Leather City - Suzhou Expat Board

Hi All, Even though I have lived now in Suzhou for 10 months, I am not clear as to just where the "leather city" is, and what is really available there. If anyone has been there, and can provide some advice and information, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Scott

Hi Scott, So far as I know (and also people around me), the leather city you mentions is actually what we call "leather & fur city". The city is called Hai Ning (海宁), in Zhe Jiang province, which is right next to Jiangsu province. Takes about 1 or 2 hours to get there... It's basically every product about fur and leather that you wanna find, coats, gloves, etc... Hope it helps Stella

yes,this market is in city of Haining. you will have numerous choices over there.however,keep your eys open, beware of imitations!!!!

scott, Haining is under the jurisdiction of jiaxing, Zhejiang. Best way it to take a bus to jiaxing from suzhou ( Should take atleast 1 hour) and then take a bus from jiaxing to haining. Some of my friends told me that haining is famous for it's spectacular tide in Qian Tiang river, So it's definitely a place worth visiting. Have fun
