Satellite TV Systems in Suzhou PDF Print E-mail

It`s high-technology, and higher-quality that is surpassing cable television services in popularity around the world. All it takes is a 60cm satellite dish antenna that is set up right at your home and an Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD) that connects your television to the dish antenna and receives the best domestic and international programming available - direct from the satellite. Together, the IRD and digital direct-to-home (DTH) dish enables anyone to enjoy over 52 digital channels absolutely anywhere in the country.

To receive broadcasting signals, subscribers must acquire a dish antenna, a Digital Satellite Receiver (IRD) and Access Card (a smart card). Installation and after sales service will likewise be shouldered by dealers. There are many satellite providers in the market. The brief introduction as below:

  • Dream Satellite from Philippines
The most popular options is Dream Satellite TV from the Philippines. This system requires a 0.45m/0.55m diameter dish to get a sufficiently strong signal reception.
    The channel lineup is: Fox News/ CNN/ CNN Finance/ CNBC Asia/ BBC World/ ABC Asia Pacific – Australia/ Bloomberg/ HBO Asia/ Cinemax/ Star Movies/ Star Chinese Movies/ Hallmark/ Turner Classic Movies/ Star World/ AXN/ NGC/ A1 - Adventure One/ MTV Philippines/ Channel [V]/ ETC-Entertainment Central/ Disney/ Cartoon Network/ Nickelodeon/ Animax/ Star Sports/ ESPN/ Sports Plus/ TV5/ NHK/ DW/ EWTN/ TBN/ JCTV and Living Asia.
  • Korean No.3
This system requires a 1.8m diameter dish to get a sufficiently strong signal reception.
    The channel lineup is: KTV/OUN/RTV/ABS/BTN/SBS Drama/CBS/SKY/KBS-2/KBSkorea/KBS-1/LG Shopping/CJ Shopping/KBS Drama/MBC Drama/Adventure one/Animal Planet/Q-CII/MBC-ESPN/FTV/MBN/YTN/HEAL/Music K/SEOUL/EBS PLUS-1/EBS PLUS-2/EDUON/Music Broadcasting/PIUS Movie
  • Russia:

  • EXTV from HK seems to be another good option.
This system requires a 0.9m diameter dish to get a sufficiently strong signal reception.
    Channels on this system currently include: TvbE/ TVB8/ TVB/ Hallmark Channel/ tvbN/ BBC World/ Bloomberg/ CNBC Hong Kong/ CCTV4/ CCTV9/ EuroSportNews/ Phoenix News/ Shenzhen TV Station/ Celestial Movies/ MATV/ Cinemax/ HBO/ TCM/ tvbQ/ Nickelodeon/ Cartoon Network/ Animax/ Entertainment/ Fashion TV, MTV SE Asia/ Guangdong TV Station/ Phoenix Chinese/ Playboy and BLUE HOUSE.
  • UBC from Thailand
This system requires a 1.8m - 2.4m diameter dish (it's a huge dish) to get a sufficiently strong signal reception.
It offers more sports features than other systems.
  • Sinosat1
That offers international TV channels, too. It's a Chinese-government owned system. Most of the international channels you see at hotels are from this system. Before October 2002, pirate access cards were available on the black market for this system. Later on, the coding system was changed and so far the coding is secure and "pirate" systems cannot access Sinosat1.
