Alcatel and TCL have entered into an agreement with RIM to allow for Blackberry presence in Suzhou, Jiangsu province by the end of this year.
Currently, nearly 300 wireless networks in more than 120 countries are supporting BlackBerry mobile email service. In Asia, it has been widely accepted by users in Japan, South Korea, India, and Taiwan.
Earlier in October, RIM had signed a deal with Alcatel Lucent to sell Blackberry 8700 in China’s mainland. Later the company announced cooperation with China Mobile to launch its BlackBerry mobile phone e-mail service in China’s mainland.
Blackberry is entering Chinese market, which is already ruled by Redberry, a similar mobile email service released by China Unicom, the second largest wireless operator in this country.
Global subscribers for Blackberry mobile phones show an increase by 1.2 million in the first quarter of 2007, totaling to 9.2 million with the growth rate touching 76.5 percent.
RIM’s range of award-winning products, services include the BlackBerry wireless platform, the RIM Wireless Handheld product line, software development tools, radio-modems and software/hardware licensing agreements.
