Suzhou Expat - The expatriate portal in China

I'm looking for an Ayi from monday to friday 2-3 hours for day from 29 of october. I'd like somebody who is living not too far from our place (Bay Side Garden, SIP) in case of babysitting sometime ( not too often ) in the evening. My son will delivery in December so she must be good for newborn! She must be good at cleaning and ironing. Not cooking. If she speacks a little English is better, otherwise no problem. I am also looking for a Ayi.
I actually living in Suzhou (Bay side Garden) without my family.
My wife is visit me a view times in the Year.
I have bad experience already about my last Ayi.
The Ayi should be know the meaning about the word "cleaning" and also cleaning in the corners of the Apartment and under Table, bed ect.She should be also able to do washing and Ironing.

My family and I are in the middle of trying to find one also. Put alot of time and interviewing on this: so many issues that seem to come up 'to little to late'. #1 Make sure she goes to the health dep. and gets a health check and you have a chinese interprete it. #2. Make sure she is who her residency card says she is. Sometimes they can alter info and use someone elses I.D. Card. 3# Make sure the agency suggesting her to you doesnt try this : " She is a new Ayi, but she seems to be very aware and eager to learn. Make them get someone with Experience you are needing, or get another agency to provide you someone who can. I've been living in Suzhou for so many years. We had tried so many times an Ayi but it cost us more trouble than help. Perhaps we are just unlucky. But after 6 trials - we gave up. We encountered Ayi who thinks "cleaning" is the same as merely "touching" the furnitures. Ayi who thinks that we should support her family's supply for food because cooking oil, meat, cookies, bread, everything were found being taken out, and Ayi's who thinks that the 3 hours working schedule includes her 2 hours travel time from home.
If you want an Ayi that you can rely on, try to get from Hongkong - those Philippine Ayis are good but expensive than the locals. I have friends who took Ayi's from Hongkong and brought in Suzhou. They live happily every after then. I would like to try but I cant afford.

I find already a cleaning lady.She is a Philippina and she do a great Job.She was working also in Hongkong before and know what to do.Of course if the Job is well done i will Pay here also a reasonable Payment.Before i have a Chinese Ayi but it was really worse as Bien_v also mention.Yes maybe we are just unlucky.By the way i stay here also for a few years.I wish everybody the best luck to find a good cleaning Lady.
