Welcome,

If you want to have money transfers to China, then take a bank in China like HSBC that has direct ties to your home country. Provides assurance that everybody gets the correct SWIFT number for international transfers, maybe.

Next, I would, like I do have several different bank accounts if you travel around China needing ATM access. Some cities don't have some banks. I use Merchants Bank, Bank of China, IBIC Bank and Communications Bank. I like Merchants the most as my "home bank".

Like US banks and others, if you use your bank's ATM outside of your Suzhou home base there may be an ATM / teller transaction fee accessed.

In general, I would say any of the banks are reliable but it is a consumers preference issue based on experience.

Good Luck and zhong qiu jie juai le
